Beatlemania Magic A Tribute To The Beatles will be making their first appearance at the Portage Area Summerfest on Friday, August 11, 2023 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on the Main Stage at the Upper Tennis Court at the Crichton McCormick Park. The band will perform 2 sets of Beatles hits with the 1st set as the early Beatles and the 2nd set as the Sgt. Pepper's Band era Beatles. This band is a lot of fun and fans of all ages sing along to the many Beatles songs.
"Beatlemania Magic" a Tribute to the Beatles recreates the "magic" of "Beatlemania". A national touring Beatles Tribute band recreating the early Beatles concerts with identical costumes, equipment and spot on harmonies. Songs from I Want to Hold Your Hand to I'm Down played using Vox amps, Gretsch, Hofner & Rickenbacker guitars made famous
by the Beatles. The look and sound is uncanny. "Beatlemania Magic" also recreates the "Magical Mystery Tour" of Sgt. Pepper, White Album, Let It Be, and Abbey Road. If you missed them in 1964, you must see "Beatlemania Magic" A Tribute to the Beatles today and relive the "magic". "Beatlemania Magic" A Tribute To The Beatles recreates the "magic" of "Beatlemania" from the 1964 Ed Sullivan and touring look, to the experimental Sgt. Pepper era and finally the look of Abbey Road right before the break up of the band who changed the way music was created.
Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute is America's #1 tribute band to Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame legends Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band will be performing at the Portage Area Summerfest on Sunday, August 13, 2023 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on the Main Stage at the Upper Tennis Court at Crichton McCormick Park. They will get your blood pumpin' to Lynyrd Skynyrd's greatest hits such as Sweet Home Alabama, That Smell, Saturday Night Special, Gimme Three Steps, Free Bird, and many more! The band is made up of six seasoned musicians of the Cleveland and Nashville music scene. Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute put their heart and soul into every performance and have become a "Must-Have, Must-See" band for Fairs, Festivals, Amphitheater Concerts, and Biker Rallies. The band tours around the U.S. to sell out shows.
The Platelets, a Johnstown area band of young musicians, will be bringing their mix of classic tunes, original songs, and current hit music to the Portage Area Summerfest on Friday, August 11, 2023 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Gazebo Stage.
The Platelets are a genre-crossing rock band from the Johnstown area formed in April of 2016. Their lineup consists of Clint Sparling on vocals and guitar, Nate Jackson on lead guitar, Ron Jezeskie on bass, and Dylan Jackson on drums. Their debut album, Steelworker's Soul, released in August 2022, takes you on a journey that will leave you wanting more, and they have more on the way. With many influences such as the Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, The Doors, and Muddy Waters, their catchy songs and eclectic jams will surely catch your ear and move your feet. Rather than target a specific audience, The Platelets’ goal has always been to bring joy to everyone, regardless of their background or taste in music. Their riffs and melodies serve the important messages they long to spread about peace, love, positivity, and healing that which is broken.
One of the area's favorite bands, 80s party band Giants Of Science, will be at Portage Area Summerfest on Saturday, August 22, 2023 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on the Main Stage at the Upper Tennis Court at the Crichton McCormick Park. Come out and hear many of the 80s hit songs you remember.
Giants of Science is a 4 piece professional east coast touring party band. For well over 20 years, GOS has been packing colleges and clubs from Virginia to Vermont, always delivering a high-energy stage and light show. Giants of Science has performed concerts with such national acts as: Fuel, Hailstorm, Reel Big Fish, Donnie Iris, Warrant, and Foghat.
Returning this year to the Portage Area Summerfest is fan favorite Kelly Hylton - Elvis Presley Impersonator for 2 different shows on Saturday, August 12, 2023 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. with his 1950s and early 1960s Elvis Presley set and 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with his late 1960s and 1970s Elvis Presley show. Don't miss both sets. Kelly has been performing as Elvis Presley for many years at concerts, festivals, and other events to very receptive audiences. He entertains and interacts with the audience members while singing the hits of Elvis covering 3 decades.
Returning to the Portage Area Summerfest on Saturday, August 12, 2023 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. will be Shades Of June performing classic songs and today's hits on the Main Stage at the Upper Tennis Court at Crichton McCormick Park.
Shades of June began in the fall of 2002, forming from the ashes of a Johnstown, PA-based group named Shadow 5. Today, the band features the powerful combination of Ryan Krinjeck on guitar and lead/backing vocal, Chris "Stewie" Myer on the bass / backing vocals, and Jesse August on the drums/backing vocals.
Shades of June is a versatile rock powerhouse with the ability to entertain you with all genres of covers, and exciting originals that are sure to keep the dance-floor packed and make any event a huge success. Come out, let loose, and get to know them! You'll be glad you did.
The Frick Brothers will be performing for the first time at the Portage Area Summerfest on Saturday, August 12, 2023 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on the Gazebo Stage. Brothers Tim & Benjy Frick are no strangers to the regional and national music scene. They have been performing for many decades with their original recording band Inside Out touring as a headlining band and sharing stages with many well known national music acts across the country. The Frick Brothers acoustic music show performs at many venues over a large geographic region and covers music from the 70's until now with a wide variety of acoustic versions of rock, blues, pop, and other favorite songs.
The Voice NBC TV Singing Show 2019 singer and guitarist contestant Jimmy Mowery will be coming to the Portage Area Summerfest on Saturday, August 12, 2023 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on the Gazebo Stage. Jimmy has been performing as a solo act and a member of a band from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area for many years and has toured around many states. Jimmy is a great singer and musician who covers a wide variety of music genres. His appearances on The Voice were received so well that he was coached by both Adam Levine and John Legend.
Even though they have been together for over 30 years, regional top band Felix & The Hurricanes are making their first appearance at the Portage Area Summerfest on Sunday, August 13, 2023 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on the Main Stage at the Upper Tennis Court at Crichton McCormick Park. Felix & The Hurricanes have been rocking stages as a headlining band and opening for many national acts over the years with their blend of original and cover songs including rock, blues, country, oldies, and more. As one of the busiest bands around, you can see them playing at major festivals and events as well has many nightclubs.
Three Of Hearts, one of the Portage Area Summerfest audience's favorite bands, returns this year on Sunday, August 13, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Three Of Hearts formed in 2014; but, the band members each have a long history of success playing in some of the most well known performing and recording bands in Pennsylvania, California, Las Vegas, NV and around the world for the last six decades.
The group has become one of the most talked about, highly professional, tight and polished music acts around and has been performing shows for very receptive audiences while headlining festivals, events, and nightclubs with their mix of dance party music covering six decades and many genres. This very versatile group can cover pop, rock, oldies, country, and more well known songs. Three Of Hearts has also opened for many national acts and can be seen at shows covering west central Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Altoona. The band lineup of Duaine Detrick (Bass Guitar & Vocals), Denise Canby (Guitar & Vocals), Joe Tirpak (Guitar & Vocals), and Tom Romanak (Drums & Vocals) are all top notch, seasoned musicians and entertaining performers who do many shows every year and they are glad to be back at Summerfest.

UB The DJ will be entertaining the audience at the Portage Area Summerfest on Sunday, August 13, 2023 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on the Gazebo Stage. UB will be playing oldies, rock, classic songs, and country tunes to kick off our Sunday morning festivities for the event crowd and the Portage Area Summerfest Car Cruise attendees.
Portage area singer and guitarist Jim Koban returns to the Portage Area Summerfest on Sunday, August 13, 2023 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on the Gazebo Stage. Jim has performed at the Summerfest many times and entertains audience with a mix of songs to appeal to everybody.
The musical duo of Pat & Jai as Bazooka Joe Acoustic performed at last year's Portage Area Summerfest for their first time and we welcome them back this year on Sunday, August 13, 2023 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Pat & Jai have been playing music in the region for many decades in bands and other acts. They interject a lot of fun into their shows while interacting with the audience and playing their versions of many styles of hit songs.
Long Road Home, based out of Armagh, PA, has become the country music band that is a must see. Among the great lead vocals, their three-part vocal harmonies, Austin's 6-string finger picking, the solid rhythm section, and the well orchestrated set lists, you’re guaranteed to leave satisfied and feeling a bit more country. Long Road Home played at the Portage Area Summerfest in 2019 and were a big hit.
When you catch a show, whether that be at your local bar, winery, wedding, festival, or outdoor event, you’ll be surprised to see their crowd varies through all age groups. They’re appropriate for children, teenagers, the party crowd, and older folk as well. They bring the party, the class, and the dancing!
